SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE No. 2021-03, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCANDIA, MINNESOTA, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 91 OF THE SCANDIA CITY CODE REGARDING PUBLIC NUISANCES

 

On November 16, 2021, at a Regular Meeting of the Scandia City Council, by majority vote, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2021-03, which: amends Chapter 91 of the Scandia City Code; prohibits public nuisances; defines public nuisances in the following categories: public nuisances affecting health, public nuisances affecting peace and safety, noise violations,  nuisance parking, nuisance inoperable motor vehicles; and, provides for enforcement and abatement procedures to remedy public nuisances as such nuisances occur. 

 

A printed copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours at City Hall or by standard or electronic mail.

SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 2021-04, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCANDIA, MINNESOTA, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 51 OF THE SCANDIA CITY CODE REGARDING THE BIG MARINE SEWER UTILITY

 

On November 16, 2021, at a Regular Meeting of the Scandia City Council, by majority vote, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2021-04, which: amends Chapter 51 of the Scandia City Code; retitles the section; adopts mandatory service area utility maps; defines service capacity; identifies sufficient capacity and new connections; defines the City’s permitting process; and provides changes to inspection processes.

 

A printed copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours at City Hall or by standard or electronic mail.

COMMISSION

 

NOTICE is hereby given that the Planning Commission of the City of Scandia will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, to consider the following:

 

• Amendments to the City of Scandia Development Code, Chapter 2, Section 4.34(B) regarding Distribution Scale Solar Energy Systems. The proposed amendments would permit distribution SES in areas within the Shoreland Management Overlay District if the site is able to meet certain criteria; revise the screening requirements for distribution SES to include a ‘scenic canvas’ and other options that may help alleviate issues with screening and visibility; and allow the growing of crops underneath solar panels.

 

• Amendment to the  City of Scandia Development Code, Chapter 5, Shoreland Management Regulations to allow distribution solar energy systems within the Shoreland Overlay district as a conditional use.
