Public Notice

The City of Scandia, in conjunction with the Minnesota Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has applied for a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Project for the acquisition and installation of an emergency backup generator at the Scandia Fire station / Public Works building.

Under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), EO 11988 and EO 11990, public notice is required of any federal actions that affect floodplains or wetlands.  All necessary permits will be obtained prior to construction and completion of the project.

The objectives of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program are to prevent future losses of lives and property, to implement state or local Hazard Mitigation plans, to enable mitigation measures to be implemented during immediate recovery from disaster, and to provide funding for identified and approved hazard mitigation projects.

Interested parties and/or citizens are invited to comment on the project either in writing to:

Ordinance No. 2019-03

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TOWN’S ZONING MAP TO REZONE PROPERTY ASSOCIATED WITH A LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT INVOLVING 12823 ST. CROIX TRAIL

THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF MAY,

WASHINGTON COUNTY, 

MINNESOTA DOES ORDAIN:

Section 1.  Map Amendment. Section 707.01, Zoning District Map, of the May Town Code of Ordinances, is hereby amended to remove the below described real property from the Conservancy zone and place the same into the Rural Residential zone. The property affected by this amendment is legally described as follows to-wit:

All that part of the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 31, Township 31 North, Range 19 West, Town of May, Washington County, Minnesota described as follows:

Beginning at the southeast corner of said North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; thence northerly along the east line of said North Half of the Northeast Quarter to its intersection with the centerline of Arcola Trail North; thence southwesterly along said centerline to its intersection with an easterly line of Minnesota Department of Transportation Right of Way Plat No. 82-68 to its intersection with the south line of said North Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; thence easterly along said south line to the point of beginning.

Section 2.  Effective Date.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication according to law.   

Section 3.  Severability.  If any part of this ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, this shall not invalidate any other section, provision or part thereof.
