Notice is hereby given that the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Scandia shall meet on Monday, April 6, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Scandia Community Center Board Room, 14727 209th Street North, Scandia, MN. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor. 

If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact City Assessor Patrick Poshek at 651-430-0360 to discuss your concerns. If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board will review your assessments and may make corrections as needed. Generally, you must appeal to the local board before appealing to the county board of appeal and equalization.

SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE No. 2020-02, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCANDIA, MINNESOTA, AMENDING THE SCANDIA DEVELOPMENT CODE CHAPTER 1, SECTION 4.2, REGARDING DEFINITIONS AND CHAPTER 2, SECTION 2.4, REGARDING AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT – CORE (AG C)

On March 17, 2020, at a Regular Meeting of the Scandia City Council, by majority vote, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2020-02 which amends the Scandia Development Code Chapter 1, Section 4.2, regarding definitions and Chapter 2, Section 2.4, regarding Agricultural District – Core (AG C).  The amendment added “Cidery” to the definition of Winery, Craft (Ch 1, Section 4.2 (360); and added “Winery / Cidery, Craft” as a use allowed with a Conditional Use Permit in the Agriculture Core District (Ch 2, Section 2.4 (4)).

A printed copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours at City Hall or by standard or electronic mail.
