Request by Reed Richerson of US Solar for approval of a Conditional Use Permit to construct and operate a Distribution Solar Energy System on approximately 10 acres of a 88.38-acre parcel on property owned by Ronald and Janet Taylor.  The proposed 1 Megawatt project would include solar panels, a driveway for site access, and related infrastructure. 

The subject parcel is located east of and adjacent to Keystone Avenue N, north of 190th Street N, and west of Manning Trail N, with a Parcel ID of 30.032.20.23.0001.

SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 210, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING DEVELOPMENT CODE CHAPTER 1, SECTION 4.2, REGARDING DEFINITIONS AND CHAPTER 2, SECTION 4.34, REGARDING SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS

On April 16, 2019, at a Regular Meeting of the Scandia City Council, by majority vote, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 210 which amends Chapters 1 and Chapter 2 of the Development Code regarding definitions and solar energy systems.  In Chapter 1 the definition of a solar energy system has been amended to distinguish between local and distribution solar energy systems.  In Chapter 2 provisions have been added to allow for and to regulate solar energy systems that distribute energy to predominately off-site users.

A printed copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection by any person during regular office hours at City Hall or by standard or electronic mail.
