George B. Eagleton died peacefully at his home in Marine on St. Croix, Aug. 13, 2015. He was 78.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul W. Eagleton esq. and Lila F. Eagleton (Pierce), and daughter, Deborah Lee Heffron.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, June Eagleton (Dean); daughters, Sarah Ann Hidy (John) and Rachel Dean Hanzuk (Steve); grandsons, Kyle Gallagher, Taylor Gallagher (Rita), Caleb Heffron, Alexander and Jeffrey Hidy, Mathew and Patrick Hanzuk; great-grandsons, River Lee and Quinn Lee Gallagher; cousins and many friends.

At George’s request there will be no funeral services. A celebration of his life will be held in the fall.

Special thanks to the Marine on St. Croix First Responders team, staff at Lakeview Hospital and the Gables at Boutwells Landing, and to Dr. Donald Wessel for their care of George.

Gifts of remembrance may be directed to The Phipps Center for the Performing Arts, Hudson, Wis., The Washington County Historical Society, The Scandia/Marine Lions Foundation or to the donor’s choice.
