Scandia Mayor Christine Maefsky presented a Good Neighbor Award Proclamation to area resident Patty O’Gorman at the May 22 city council meeting.
The Scandia Good Neighbor Award honors individuals, businesses and civic groups who make our community a better place to live.
O’Gorman was nominated by fellow Bone Lake Association member Julie Morse, who described Patty’s hard work, dedication and love for the community as contributing significantly to the strong cohesive quality of the Bone Lake neighborhood and Scandia as a whole. Patty, who serves on the Bone Lake Association Board of Directors, researched local history and collected resident biographies and pictures to publish the Bone Lake history book “Life on the Lake.” Patty also maintains a Bone Lake resident directory and new neighbor welcome packet to personally welcome new residents to the Bone Lake area.
Mayor Maefsky expressed thanks to Patty for her many qualities of being a Scandia Good Neighbor.
