If you are out enjoying the newly refurbished Stillwater Lift Bridge and the St. Croix Crossing Loop Trail during the next two days, you’ll notice a painting crew repainting portions of the lift bridge during daylight hours Oct. 15 and Fri, Oct. 16. The paint touchups will not affect the lift schedule or require closing the trail. However the contractor will park equipment on the bridge deck to reach into the girders and below the bridge deck. Walkers and bikers should be careful and stay away from the equipment. Weather permitting, all repainting will be finished by Friday evening, Oct. 16.
MnDOT road work has been identified as a critical service in Gov. Tim Walz’s Stay at Home executive order. MnDOT is being as flexible as possible with schedules during this period of lower traffic volumes to keep projects moving forward and minimize the impact to motorists. Following guidance from state and federal health officials, and to prevent further spread of COVID-19, crews will maintain social distancing practices while working.
