The Osceola and St. Croix Valley Railway will happen in 2021.

Those words come from Scott Hippert, Executive Director of the Minnesota Transportation Museum, which operates the line.

“The train is planned to arrive in Osceola May 4,” he said. “We look forward to our partnerships with the Canadian National Railway, Village of Osceola, the Osceola Chamber of Commerce and the Osceola Historical Society to begin our regular passenger rail season on May 22.”

What caused Hippert to state those words was a recent posting in the Osceola Sun about the Canadian National Railway and its filing with the Surface Transportation Board related to the rail line at the Osceola Depot.

“We have been assured by Canadian National there are no imminent changes that will affect our operations,” he said, noting they received many inquiring calls on the subject.
